Lesson 2: Dotted notes!
Recap: Remember these symbols on the right? They show us how how many beats one should hold for each sound on an instrument. Also remember, we are grouping notes every 4 beats.
As a self assessment, kindly input the following line of notes into song maker app (using one colour line only) and then check your answer:

Side note: If you are using a smartphone to access the song maker app, please go to the Song Maker's settings and change the length to 4 bars.
Today, we are going to learn a new type of note: a dotted note:
In music writing, we put a small dot after a note if we want the sound to be held slightly longer, half longer to be exact.
When you use dotted notes, you will find that you can create more interesting ideas!

Using the Song Maker app, make the pink row look like the above, and press play to listen to how it sounds. Does it sound familiar? It does, doesn't it? That's because a lot of pop songs use this idea in their songs.
Don't rush. Take your time to understand what has just been explained, and revisit the material if necessary.
